Finneys Wood Finishes

The wooden areas surrounding and adjacent to windows and portholes are susceptible to black marking from condensation so to protect them they need a coat of a suitable waterproof varnish prior to finishing the interior panels.

This is achieved by painting the area round the window or porthole with either Durapolish Clear Glaze available in matt, satin or gloss Finney's Extra Tough Varnish available in satin or gloss.

Durapolish Clear Glaze is an oil based product, touch dry in around 4 - 6 hours. Finney's Extra Tough Varnish is a bit more expensive but is water based and quick drying for ease of use.
